The Automatic Weather Station is a compact, self-contained, automatic station which reports wind speed, wind direction (related to magnetic North), temperature, barometric pressure and relative humidity. The weather sensors and data acquisition system are all contained in a single unit that is easy to install. 


The Automatic Weather Station is very accurate, responds rapidly to wind changes, and has no starting threshold. There are no bearings or potentiometers to corrode or wear out. An electronic compass gives the magnetic North for the determination of wind direction.


This weather station a quality meteorological instrument which has its components enclosed in a sealed, weather-proof cylinder ( IP-55 ). The package contains a computer for determining weather parameters, performing self-diagnostic tests, and transmitting data and status information.


This weather station is an intelligent device capable of communicating over a multi-point network via CAN Bus.


Weather Sensors


Here the weather sensors are high quality, rugged, industrial grade sensors for monitoring, alarming and reporting. Each sensor has a high level 4-20 mA output for easy interface to process control systems, telemetry, data loggers or displays. Each sensor is loop-powered by 10-36 VDC and comes with standard 25' cable. ( Cable lengths up to 100 are available ) Wind Direction, Wind Speed, Humidity and Temperature Sensor electronics are fully encapsulated in marine grade epoxy for complete environmental protection and a long operating life.


Wind Direction Sensor


The Wind Speed Sensor is constructed of high-impact materials, ensuring its durability and ruggedness even in severe weather conditions. The Wind Speed gauge measures wind speeds of up to 110 MPH with a 3 cup anemometer. The wind speed indicator has a very low threshold, and it responds accurately to subtle changes in wind speed.

Data Logger


The weather station offers state-of-the-art technology for continuous logging, storing and retrieving of weather information. This product is durable and powerful data logging and recording unit, is enclosed in a sturdy weatherproof case. The unit will operate for several months before its 12V DC battery requires recharging. 


Weather data can be accessed easily either through a real-time report or through a log of recorded data ( Programming and calibration are not required ). Maximums, Minimums and Averages can also be obtained from the data using most spreadsheet programs. All data loggers contain a real time clock that date and time stamps each record. All weather data collected by the data recorder can easily be transferred to a disk file for future analysis and storage. The data can be imported into any standard spreadsheet program. 


Software


The data logger includes Windows-based software that provides many useful features, such as real time monitoring, measurement interval and engineering unit selections, station ID, and sensor calibration. Data downloaded from the data logger can easily be opened in any PC spreadsheet program for analysis and graphic presentation. The software will run on a PC-type laptop or desktop computer running Windows 95 or later. The data recorder requires a computer that is equipped with a standard RS 232 serial communication port. All data loggers include RS 232 cables ( for communication between the logger and computer ). 


Mounting Hardware


The weather station includes full assembly on a sturdy and durable Stainless steel tube frame that can be mounted onto a pre-existing base or onto a tripod for upright installation. The unit is designed for durability and endurance in harsh conditions. 


Battery


A 12V DC 2A-H rechargeable battery is included with the weather station for use in remote applications. This battery can be used in conjunction with solar panels for reliable continuous use.
